This course provides intensive training in concepts and techniques for conducting different anthropological research methods giving due emphasis on qualitative methodology, which includes: Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), In-depth interviews, Case Studies, Participant Observations, the genealogical methods and so on. It also deals with major issues in anthropological methods such as ethical considerations in ethnography, emic and etic perspectives as well as the various methods that are essential to collect compile and analyze data. Consequently, students would be equipped with basic skills of anthropological research methods and would be potentially capable to undertake field works.
