Cartography and Map Reading

This course is designed to enable students understand the basic concept of maps, techniques of reading maps at different scales, and different types of maps. Scale representation and conversion, graphical methods of changing map size and calculating distance and areas; indexing & scaling rectangular grid systems and diagrams; importance of marginal and border information in topographical maps.
