Research methods and proposal development course gives the directions of conducting problem solving research approaches. The course mainly focuses on: problem identification, stating SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bounded) objectives for the identified problems, designing proper methods or models to achieve the stated objectives and reporting data from different sources.

 

 

Course Objectives

 

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

 

·       Identify researchable problems related to water supply, sanitation and environmental engineering from their community.

·       Develop complete research proposal that can also be used as their thesis proposal

·       Design suitable research method(s) or model (s) to their research work

·       Make proper plan for the data analysis mechanisms from each data sources applied in the specific study. 

·       Prepares students to undertake a complete research project in their major stream.
