The main focus of this course is to provide students necessary knowledge on how to identify the divergent geographical problems and understanding of the theories & techniques employed in regional planning. Some of these theories & techniques are helpful in understanding & analyzing regional problems while others have predictive values. The course aimed at introducing students with the conceptual basis of regional planning, the concept of a region in regional planning, theories and practices of regional planning, theories of regional growth [long-run and short-run], and ‘Inter’ and ‘Intra’ regional development analysis. The course will also try to highlight the theoretical and conceptual elements by considering developed and developing regions in to account.
