Course descriptions:

This course is intended to deliver students with the knowledge and information necessary to provide animal health management. The course will focus on general systemic states; toxemia, hyperthermia, hypothermia, fever, septicemia, localized infections, disturbances of body fluids, electrolytes and acid base balance. The course also concentrates on the diseases of different parts of animal body systems (i.e. the alimentary, cardiovascular, respiratory, urogenital, nervous, musculoskeletal) as well as diseases of skin, eye and ear are included. The  practical  component  of  the  course  is  designed  to  reinforce the topics discussed in  the lecture so that students will be demonstrated on how to identify and treat animal diseases.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

Ø  Familiarize students with the principles and basic knowledge of veterinary medicine.

Ø  Have the basic understanding on the patho-physiologic conditions and general systemic states of animals.

Ø  Identify and treat the most common and generalized animal diseases of different body systems.
