The course is designed to familiarize learners with conflict and
conflict resolution trends and situations in the Horn of Africa, it briefly
indicate learners where the horn founds in terms of its historical relations
with the Middle East, Europe and Great Lakes region in Africa and the repercussions
and legacies resulted to the Horn politics. It gives much emphasis on the
nature of conflicts in terms of conflict system, levels, causes, actors,
factors and consequences of the conflict. It further examines the formal and
informal institutional approaches of resolutions mechanisms and indicates
learners synthesize the fundamental reasons behind challenges to resolve the
inter-related nature of the conflict and provide plausible solution scenarios.
