At the end of the course the students should be able to:

  • Properties of light and electron and their utilization in different microscopes.
  • Define terms pertinent to microscopy & forensic microscopy, its introduction & history of various microscopy’s.
  • Will have insight into different type of microscopes employed in different areas of Forensic Science, its basic principles and applications.
  • Have an insight into detailed study of stereomicroscopy, light microscopy, polarized light microscopy, microchemical tests, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and instrumental microscopy.
  • Detailed study of microscopic analysis of samples of forensic importance such as glass, hair, fibre, paint, blood, semen and soil.
