Course Objective
To introduces the general understanding about all types of Dam its classification according to different variables, Dynamic stability of embankment dams; Effect of earthquakes on embankment dam, Assessment of design earthquake, Analysis of stability and deformations in embankment dams induced by earthquakes, Modern dams with reinforced concrete facing, Construction of the reinforced concrete facing. Dynamic stability of concrete dams; Earthquake effects on concrete dams, Methods for dynamic analysis of concrete dams etc.
Course Outcome:
After completion of this course, students will able to understand dam types, its stability analysis using different techniques, to understand the effect of earthquakes on embankment dam, earthquake assessment, Modern dams with reinforced concrete and its dynamic analysis for design consideration etc.
