First Year PG Course
The Course Covers:
Linear and nonlinear systems, existence and uniqueness, continuous dependence, phase plane
analysis, equilibria, limit cycles, stability, Lyapunov’s Method, index theory, the Poincare-
Bendixson theorem and examples of applications. Bifurcations, discrete dynamical systems
and chaos, topics from the calculus of variations, and classical mechanics.
