The course Rural Development deals with the process of rural development from both theoretical and practical point of view. Theories related to definition of rural development, to measurement of rural development and to new institutional economics approach to rural development will be covered in this course. Moreover the application of such theories will be analyzed from the perspective of developing countries including Ethiopia. Finally, the rural development policy and strategy of Ethiopia will be examined from both theoretical and practical points of view.
