Course Description:
This course introduces the basic concepts and the process of undertaking research from inception to write up. Students are expected to come to this work with an approved letter of intent in order to benefit fully from the course. The course provides skills as to how to review literature, choose appropriate methodology, design a research questions, plan for fieldwork and familiarizes students with ethical issues and guidelines relevant to health research.
Course objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Review literature to identify research gaps;
2. State research questions and objectives;
3. Choose appropriate study methods relevant for research questions;
4. Develop a research work plan and determine resource for research;
5. Address ethical issues relevant to the research undertaking.
6. Identify researches to be dealt with qualitative methods;
7. Explain the method of data generation and analysis in the qualitative study;
