At the end of the course, students will be able to:

·         Understand the scientific and philosophical foundations of social science research;

·         Appreciate the link between theory and empirical research;

·         Understand the differences and similarities between quantitative and qualitative research approaches

·         Identify the key types of social sciences research;

·         Describe the key elements or steps of carrying out a scientific research; and

 Do practical research (design research proposals; design research strategies; collect, analyze and interpret data; prepare scientific research reports and make good oral presentations of research results.
