This course deals with the theoretical, methodological and ethical issues that are central to Second Language Research. It has been designed to provide support for postgraduate students undertaking research in language studies. It includes: the meaning of research, types of research, purposes of research, the research proposal, instruments of data collection, steps in research design, sampling, data processing, analysis and interpretation of data and the research report.
